"Trust 22" At The Tenerife International Film Festival 2007

Today I got one of the most exciting phone calls a filmmaker can get.
I was in my apartment sending some emails when my cell rang. It was a nice lady from London asking me if I was the director of Trust 22.
I told her yes and then she went on to tell me that:
TRUST 22 was nominated for BEST DOCUMENTARY at the
Tenerife International Film Festival 2007
I was so excited I couldn’t believe it.
Then she told me the festival is in 2 weeks in Tenerife, Spain
I have no idea how I am going to get the money for the flight ticket or the accommodations, but I know that if I have to be there things will work out.

How cool is that I got nominated with films that have HOLLYWOOD MEGA STARS
Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking)
James Cameron (Titanic)
Martin Sheen (The Departed)
Directors Simcha Jacobovici is also nominated as best Director in another category.
Simcha Jacobovici is the same director from The Lost Tomb Of Jesus.
This is SOOOO AMAZINGLY COOL I AM JUST DREAMING!!!

Congratulations! This is an achievement, and although it often sounds cliche, it IS an honor just being nominated if only for the opportunity that it gives you to be heard. After all, as a filmmaker isn't that what we all crave?
Tenerife is definitely no small accomplishment. I have a couple of friends whose work was screened there.

I am in cloud 9 this is just so amazing… This is the first time I get a nomination and just getting it is so COOL !!!! When I saw “stars” saying that getting nominated was enough I tough it was just a PR move but I really really really understand now the feeling is amazing and I am so happy an honored… just watching the list of films brings a smile to my face… Susan Sarandon, James Cameron, Martin Sheen and Oren Stambouli in the same sentence … IS JUST SURREAL !!!

This is just the beginning of many amazing awards. The kind of consciousness that made Trust 22 is destined to be recognized and spread. I know it.
We shot some footage for your Be the Change video today with our home school ohana. Some is in a waterfall here on Kauai. The kids were really into the idea and we are going to do more. Thanks for getting this started.
